The Red Cross Leadership Development Center is a 4-day summer camp August 8-11 at Santa Clara University. It’s for high school students, and teaches leadership and Red Cross initiatives, while promoting community service and diversity. Program cost is $215. Applications are due May 27. For more information and to apply, go to: http://www.LDCbayarea.org/
Rising juniors and seniors, do you have plans for the summer? Join us at NYU’s first College Access Leadership Summer Institute, July 10th – July 14th. This 4 day program is designed to demystify the often daunting college admissions process. The curriculum will include workshops and small group sessions on college admissions, college-entrance test preparation, essay and resume writing, interviewing and presentation skills, and financial aid literacy. Program graduates will be certified College Access Ambassadors and will be required to act as mentors and advisors in their respective high schools by conducting a college application workshop.
Successful applicants for the NYU-CALI program are underrepresented, strong high school students from the New York Metro area and exhibit strong leadership potential. If selected, students are awarded a full scholarship to the institute and are only expected to cover travel expenses to and from campus. Space is limited.
